[UK-CONTEST] Commonwealth Contest.

One or two seem to have taken my point. It wasn't
really just a question of trophies but more one
asking if the average Joe should have something
worthwhile to aim for.

It would seem no hardship to maintain still just two
listings for uk and others then add one asterisk for
low power and two for qrp. Give a certificate to the
three leading stations in each category for the uk and
one to the leader from each continent, or perhaps more
to say n/a where the number of entrants warrants it.

John's offer to organise a trophy for non uk
participants, subject to donor coming forward is worth
consideration but perhaps there are spare trophies
lying around from redundant contests.

I am not aiming to put forward solutions, that's not
my remit, I just wish to see the matter discussed and
be considered. Give me a target that will make the
competetive aspect one worth striving for. Some may
think the band/call area targets sufficient, others
some choice dx, I want a contest with a purpose that
will keep me focussed which means competing against
similarly equipped stations otherwise it will be just
a dabble here and there with coffee and meal breaks in
the sun and a barbecue in the evening when I would
prefer to be searching and cq-ing if there was
something on offer at the end of it.

I have now said my twoppenworth and shall not overload
the reflector with further comment.

Have fun and success with whatever your objectives in
beru.

Brian 5B/G4ODV.
