Hi Chris,
I'm not sure about the size of a LF loop, but I built a H.F. loop some years ago using LDF4-50, I needed to reduce the size by 20% from the published dimensions, which suggested using copper plumbing pipe.
I put this down to the fact that the coax is corrigated making the length effectivly longer.
As mentioned see if you can borrow an antenna analyser.
