I fully agree with you Roger, that CC is not dead.
However, I'm not sure about allowing cluster access.
I can see the argument that it will bring more casual contesters to
participate.
However, I think allowing cluster access also 'de-skill' the contest.
Looking at my own performance, my biggest weakness is in finding bonuses. I
need to work at this to improve my performance. If I had cluster running,
that would find some of the missing bonuses for me, thus requiring no
performance improvement on my part to improve my score.
I think the answer is to have a separate assisted section which does allow
cluster access, to attract the casual contesters, but I don't think we
should allow cluster access in the Open and Restricted sections.
