[UK-CONTEST] 80m CC Times

That's an interesting point, I am sure it must have come up before?

If you say the contest STARTS at 08:00 and FINISHES AT 09:30 then you
should not be starting a contact at 09:30:01.

If you interpret it as the contest RUNS from 08:00 to 09:30 you could
start a contact at 09:30:59.

It would be interesting to hear an interpretation from the contest
committee?

Mind you, I have in the past heard some pretty serious "rubber clocking"
no doubt with a little massaging of the time afterwards.

I have one of those clocks which are locked to the Rugby transmission -
so I am never wrong :0)

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] 80m CC Times

Hi,

I need to reassure myself here...... am I right in saying that the 80m
CC contest starts at 20:00 and ends at 21:30. This I understand it be
1:30 long..... and we all call CQ the second our clocks have turned
20:00.

My question is this..... once our clocks turn 21:30 do we stop or can
we still go on until 21:30 and 59 seconds, as an example?

I ask this as someone yesterday at 21:30 and 25 seconds was telling me
that it's the end...... which really got my back up as you can make at
least 1 QSO in that time and there was someone calling me back but it
was all too late due to this other operator sending me "END". My clock
is set to my GPS so I know I do have the correct time.

After all if my first entry in my log is at 20:00 and my last one is
at 21:30 then I have run for 1:30 and not 1:29... if you see my point.

I just want to make it clear in my mind.

  Cheers,

  Berni
