Is that ever likely to happen? Didn't the Belgians successfully obtain a 2Kw
or something a few years ago?

Thanks for the information - I'll just have to wait for a personal short 
callsign. I hope negotiations will be started to allow UK contest stations 
to run 1.5kW output. My GM4 friend has an HF SRP which permits him to run 
1kW output and he has had no problems, so the same could be requested for HF

contest stations.

Chris SJJ - yes those were the days - IARU 1996 was our first use of GM6V, 
but it took until 1999 before we could use GM7V on a long-term basis - 
instead of the illogical Belgian system (I wkd OT6T today so they still have

the same system) Fortunately things *seem* to progress faster nowadays ?

Completely off-topic - anyone know what antennas 3Y0X were using for the 
first 2-3 days of the DXpedition ?
