Part P of the new Building Regulations is not applicable in Guernsey and is an unlikely framework for GU, but the 16th Edition of the Wiring Regulations is a legal requirement and has been for many years. Give me a call off line and I'll explain what you need to do. It sounds like you may need to have it formally checked by the Guernsey Electricity Inspection department as an amended installation.

I'll leave you to guess who is head of the Inspectorate!
