What is the argument for using powers above the present limits?  Keep up 
with the Jones's?  I believe that the only argument is in the cause of 
genuine need for bona fide scientific experiments into propagation.  Special

pleading for contests just doesn't figure.  But I don't suppose for one 
minute that any of the usual correspondents will agree.  If 1 kW becomes the

norm someone will provide a 2 kW amp .... and so on.  Is that really the way

that we want AR to flourish?  Who has the deepest pocket?
