At C52T I worked:
bnd qsos zones
160 0 0
80 16 5
40 15 3
20 336 19
15 867 23
10 783 20
The lowlights:
I couldnt get heard on the lowbands with my 100W, contrats the G*s who
worked me on 40m, 80m or both. A few nights before I was running W7's on
40 and 80ssb at 9+, shows how easy it is for dx stations get covered up.
No electricity on from sunday afternoon, i ran on a battery or
generator, from the dwindling battery I only managed 50W rf out.
Another zone 35 QRO station S9+ on scatter on 10m was CQing for ages and
ages with a monster Eu pile on 10 & 15M, he was too just too quick with
his dvk, made me cringe..
The highlights:
Hearing (but not working) FK8GM over the south pole on 15m in the middle
of the night.
10 & 15M open 24hours (10 open to SA)
During a run, my ratemeter saying 1 mult is worth 0.38 minutes.
Hitting 1 million points.
Hitting 2,000 QSOs
Frustrating not having an amp, next time I go away I'll be QRO, I could
have run NA on scatter easily in the evening on 10m and could have
doubled the total amount of QSOs overall (pending a good electricity
supply). Squeezing in on a busy band and getting spotted is important,
the resulting mental pile up moves the stations +/- of you away leaving
the frequency clear.
IC7000 100W (when on generator or mains)
Create 318b tribander@ 40ft (10=4ele, 15=4ele, 20=3ele)
40/80 Windom @ 65ft (L on 160)
I'm impressed with the little Icom, a tad hissy if you dont add any 'R'
into the line of the headphones though.
