RSGB VHF/UHF/SHF Contests 2006
In 24 hour contests which have 6 hour sections, for 2006 the six hour period
can now be split into two segments (general rule 4.l) to make it easier for
those people who lead busy lives at weekends to enter. The 70MHz CW contest
has been discontinued as support has been low in recent years with entry
numbers in single figures. CW as a mode is permitted in all RSGB general
VHF/UHF contests and, because it can be read under weak signal conditions
when SSB isn't practical can produce additional, often long distance,
contacts. For those who enjoy using morse code the 144MHz CW/Marconi contest
in early November gives an ideal opportunity to work some overseas DX and
the 6 hour sections are now freely selectable within the 24 hours with the
option of splitting into two segments
