For those of you not going to the HF convention, the European Phone
Sprint contest takes place this coming Saturday 16.00-19.59z, SSB on 20,
40 and 80m. The main feature of the sprints is that after CQing and
making a QSO you must QSY at least 2kHz before your next contact.

This means you cannot simply sit on a frequency and CQ all the time as
in other contests. What typically happens is that you tune around, find
someone CQing, call them and make the QSO. They QSY so you stay on the
frequency and make another QSO then you have to move, and so it goes on.
Both callsigns must be given on each QSO and if you sign your call at
the end of the exchange, it signals to anyone else who has tuned in that
you will be staying on the frequency and are ready to be called by the
next station.

Activity for the first hour is primarily on 20m, with more and more
stations moving to 40m during the second hour, and the last hour is on
80m.

Please visit www.eusprint.com to view the full rules, past results and
lots more useful information. The contest is supported by just about all
major software including SD, DL2NBU, TR, Writelog, Win-Test, N1MM and
plenty of others. Details and links for downloads are on the web site.

The CW sprint takes place the following Saturday, 14th October.
