[UK-CONTEST] Oldies

I was at the Galashiels rally at the weekend and was standing talking to a
young (55 year old!) friend and on looking round the hall we noted he was
one of the youngest people there. Makes you wonder where the hobby is going
to be in the next 10 to 15 years?

I noticed that as well. I dabbled over the weekend and in 177 QSOs only
worked one 15 year old and three in their 20s.

It isn't just RTTY contesting that has a mature population. I was at a
certain radio group social event recently and at 49 I was the only person
under 50
in the room. I agree with Dave we all need to help younger people enter the

hobby and get out on those field days. We won't be able to rescue collapsing

towers for ever!
