Jolly well done, I'd say Adrian!
I pitched my boy's tent in the field at the bottom of the garden and had a
brief listen around, using my K2, KAT100, alarm system battery and 60ft of
wire into the bushes, with the intention of spraying a few points towards
the local Club (no pre-arranged sked). I chose a spot with some tree
shelter from the SW gale and survived reasonably well - an old wine-box
served well with this set-up in lieu of a table. Very liitle on 15 apart
from A4 and V5. Could just hear the OZ and a couple of Gs on 10. 40 - very
few G's audible even during the day - even GMs. 20 was amazing - bedlam,
with some good stuff around. Thought I'd got a new one in J45, but Paul
says he was only somewhere in Greece. I was amazed at the manners on 80 -
not a single field day station was to be heard during the Sunday morning net
window! Couldn't find anything to work on 160 and then returned to the
shack to check; hadn't realised the rules bear no resemblance at all to NFD!
Somehow I didn't manage to find any DL stations to work . . . On the low
bands it appeared to be largely a domestic event, with only German spoken -
I suppose for a lot of them it was.
Main comment - I was looking in particular for G/Ps on 15 and 10 via
scatter, but very few seemed to be giving it a go and those I heard weren't
CQing, apart from 6YB and 5XV.
Around 20 QSOs altogether.

73, Peter G3LET
