[UK-CONTEST] Short UK Contest Callsigns

Hi all,

I don't like to be an obtrusive person... but can anyone explain why we 
can't use short UK contest callsigns in all WW contests... not just in RSGB, 
ARRL, WAE and BARTG events? What would be if say GM4A worked in the Field 
Day as GM4A/p? Would you agree that we shouldn't have such pointless 
restriction? Is there any chance to change that? Your thoughts in this 
matter would be much appreciated.
