Yes, it's a crying shame you can't enter from home. It might make the whole
event a little more competitive.

This weekend I spent some time in the SSBFD test .. just a fixed station
giving away points and adding support to the test.

So what motivates a fixed station to turn on the radio and take part?

Enjoyment I guess.. but it would be nice to be able to submit an entry
and see how you did, compared to other fixed participants.

Recently there was a discussion here about fixed sections in a portable
contest like this and I do understand the comments that some didn't want
this portable contest turning into just another contest.

I hope those people were happy to get the points from us fixed
participants :-)

How about a section for fixed stations that have the following
restrictions...?

a fixed station can ONLY work portables
a fixed station cannot call CQ
