This is an invitation to all uk-contest subscribers to enter the EU CW
Sprint contest which takes place this coming Saturday 14th April,
16.00UTC to 19.59UTC. The SSB sprint takes place a week later.

The unique feature of sprint contesting is that after CQing and making a
QSO, the CQing station must QSY at least 2kHz before making another
contact. The contest cannot be dominated by loud stations sitting on a
frequency and CQing endlessly - you need to develop skills in quickly
identifying a station, making a contact, CQing then moving on. The rules
require that both stations send BOTH callsigns as part of the exchange.

The contest is on 20, 40 and 80m only, with activity starting on 20m,
moving to 40 after an hour or so, and the last hour mainly on 80m. As
well as exchange of both callsigns, you must also send QSO serial number
and your name. RS(T) is not required. There are no multipliers, the
score is simply the number of QSOs.

Full rules are at www.eusprint.com where you will also find information
about logging software - the sprint is supported by Win-Test, SD, N1MM
among others.

Do give it a try - it's different from most contests, great fun and a
good test of operating skill. 5pm to 9pm this coming Saturday.
