Thanks Peter. With not having the true SO2V facility that I am used to
on the FT1kMP I wasn't really monitoring the band well, but I noted PA
activity around 1814 later in the contest. I think there are two
relevant points :
Firstly as you say, the PACC rules allow for contestants to use down to
1810, so either we align with them or they align with us.
Secondly with SSB activity now edging further and further LF, the
available band slot is getting smaller. Last night there was G5KC (??)
on 1841 and tonight there was an IZ station on 1839, so even with tight
filtering we are going to lose a couple of KHz due to splatter,
effectively making the band slot around 15-16 KHz, and it's going to get
worse as 400w SSB is available only below 1850.
