The end of the rope is attached to the upper block, then the other end
that you pull also comes from the upper block. Keeps you out of the
danger zone.
Strange... we've always had the end at the bottom, and pulling the rope from
the bottom, saves any 'odd' pulling angles on the gin pole. Plus, allows one
to watch what you're doing at a better angle. All down to preference I
guess.
But have to agree, the less people just 'standing around' the better... as
when they 'go' they don't half go....
