[UK-CONTEST] Anti GB7HQ/contest diatribe

Amused to read the following which appeared today on the RSGB Deputy 
Regional Manager reflector. The style is typical of much that appears on 
this reflector; I particularly like the bit about 'contest 
fundamentalists' and 'foreign insurgents'.

Afternoon

Can someone explain to the people in 'charge', 
that there are AMATEUR BANDS in which contests are  permitted/held
NOT CONTEST BANDS.
(must be new HF operators?)
 
There are more and more complaints about contests and  the
small but very vociferous group of contest fundamentalists, 
aided and abetted by foreign insurgents.
 
We are not listening to members or prospective  members.
(This was from those in their teens to those of many  decades whom are 
new and long time, license  holders.)
Any new marketing initiative or membership drive may want to  note this.

Excellent rally weekend, but lots of complaints about contests 
and not joining the RSGB as 'all they are interested in are  contests'.
Also, 44 pound was mentioned.
