Sounds like part of a script from a modern day Dad's Army programme.

I think a letter to the RSGB is called for - nowhere on its website is 
there any mention that as a member one can benefit from mixing with 
contest fundamentalists and foreign insurgents.  Who are these people? 
What have I been missing out on?  And for how long?

I think we should be told.
