PS
Interesting point from Stuart about logging time. So if I start to
call 30-40 secs before start time and then work someone whilst
remembering to finish the QSO and hit the "log entry " key exactly on
the hour... would that be OK?

Graham said that he 'started a contest' early. Unless you log a station
before the start where's the harm in calling CQ Contest any time you
like!

Hello Graham,

My shack clock is a wireless-clock with a clear read-out of the seconds.
Hence my comment when I heard you start up before 1900z the other day.

Forget the internet. Get a wireless clock for the shack -- it's the best
answer. I then set my logging PC clock to the wireless clock.
