Hi,

| I wondered who I would offend with that post, but I was really
| surprised to find you were the offended party, Mike! If you think it
| was a comment on your operating, I suggest you reread it, because
| there is no way that it could apply to you.

Naa, I've got a thicker skin than that, maybe the response was too hasty,
however, you did post very specific expectations.

Not being a hard ball contester, mainly S&P, I don't do the fancy stuff.
With S&P I usually take my cue from the guy I'm going to call, listen to a
few contacts. Is he taking single call, two call, delayed call? If sigs
are less than S3 I usually reply R 599 ### K, the R to confirm he has my
call correctly and the K to close out. If sigs are good and I get a
snappy reply I drop the R and the K. All this at 22/24 'cos if I'm hand
sending any faster than that I just might blow up. I don't expect anyone
to drop to my speed, if I couldn't copy them I wouldn't have called in the
first place. If I'm using the F-keys then I run it up a bit quicker. In
fact I notice that as the weekend progresses I tend to ramp up quite a
bit. Probably because I don't get too much practice, only just under 3000
QSOs in the past seven years mainly as a DX sniper.

Regards,

Mike VP8NO
