Partly because of the very strong winds, I decided to leave the mast down and give the 1.8Mhz contest a miss.  Spent the evening in front of the open fire enjoying a bottle of wine, some fine Belgian chocolates and watching a DVD with the XYL.

I did the last hour of the contest, with an inverted L at an average height of just 20 feet.

55 QSOs, 10 countries and 24 districts.

Although not helped by the low aerial, I found the noise level far higher than usual.  Hope that improves for next weekend.

Loudest signals were GM0GAV, G3SJJ and G4TSH, although that's from memory and was not a true S meter comparison.
