[UK-CONTEST] Electric Fence Noise and Other Problems......

Hi all
I have installed an electric fence system to contain the family hound from
visiting the chickens and ducks. Unlike other "Industrial Strength"
agricultural systems this works by the hound being fitted with a collar
(which contains some sort of 8 - 16KHz RX) and a number of loops of wire,
each loop enclosing the ducks or chickens in their runs. The hound
approaches the perimeter wire, and he gets a bleeping noise from the collar,
any closer and he gets an electric shock (and judging by his response it’s a
shock alright!).

Anyway, this afternoon I was tuning and testing out some new open wire
feeders. With 100w of RF the hound was jumping around the living room in
time to a CQ 80 call from myself. In addition the fence creates electrical
noise across the HF spectrum. Anyway, I'll switch the collar and fence off
whilst on the radio, but I though this info may be useful to someone.....
