Hi -

Good morning - I joined this reflector for the first time over the
weekend, greetings all.

I entered AFS CW for the first time this year, and was pleasantly
surprised to find it altogether less crowded than SSB. As a result I
really enjoyed the whole affair, and claim 253 QSOs after dupes. Many
thanks to G4BWP for the use of his shack, complete with a nicely tuned
dipole and instructions on keeping the smoke inside the valves. It
certainly makes a change to have a proper shack as I usually operate
AFS with a fishing pole from the fields behind my offices.

I need to really get down to business with SO2V, but did about 45
minutes of S&P - a cheap and relaxed alternative. I also spent a while
in the QRS section, which seems very worthwhile to me as you get some
points, but you also invest in the hobby. It was a pleasure to work a
number of M3 callsigns while running, too - 28 wpm (and the rest)
poses quite a tough challenge. I certainly needed a few repeats and
fills myself. ;-)

Anyway, great contest and congratulations to the champs! Thanks for
the QSOs!

PS. Did not enjoy the outrageous key clicks from some of the biggest
signals. How about a key click "field hospital" at the next HFC?
