[UK-CONTEST] AFS-SSB GW4BLE

I've enjoyed reading the reports from you guys however my housing estate
score was even lower than last year, despite running high(er) power. 200 Qs
and more dupes than normal. Are people logging me as a G0MCX then coming
back and logging me correctly as M0MCX? I don't know. I just log them.

Held a frequency for 2 hours then propagation must have changed a little. I
had someone from Bristol telling me to QSY, QSY, QSY at about 3:45pm. He was
weak. I did move a whisker down and suggested that he move the other way
which I noticed he did in the end. He was very angry though.

Anyway, at 4:00pm with the man from Bristol right next to me, I bailed out
and went S&P which in retrospect may have been the reason for slipping 50
QSOs this year. All CQ slots were full and I couldn't get back in. The N1MM
bandmap helped me find a slot later at 5:25pm but the UK seemed to have
dried up. I didn't make another QSO.

> Steve, you were nice and loud but I've heard you lots louder in WPX and WW
during the day; suggest the propagation gremlins just had you by the throat.

> Charles (OXO), you were very loud and sounded great

> Chris (SJJ) loud as usual(!)

> Don was storming.

For the loggers out there, N1MM behaved just excellent on a new Vista setup.

Gear: 60m loaded loop at 25 feet(!), FT1000MP with 10W into ACOM 2000,
delivering about 370W PEP.

Cheers all.

Absolute disaster from here in South/East Wales! Jury is still out as to
'why' exactly, I blame global warming (all that AFS QROo), but just 335 Qs
gross and a mere 327 Net
:-(

Compare that with 398 in 2007, dear me...

Hardly think so, but could propagation have been *that* selective?
