Also agree Cris. The GB5/7HQ teams do a fantastic job. The team commitment  
to putting the stations up, operating and in many cases having to take it all  
down again is first class and no-one should underestimate the complexity of 
both  the RF and networking aspects associated with a fully networked multi-site 
 station spread over the best part of 1000 miles!
 
As well as doing my humble bit for the QSO count I also listened a lot and  
my perception was that a lot more UK stations were calling and also responding  
to the "please work us on xyz band" requests.
 
To those who wonder how to work lots of slots there is no magic answer.  
There is no ideal location. Yes 400w and beams will generally work them  more 
quickly but the vast majority of the amateur population are of the "100w  and a 
G5RV" variety. 12 slots is possible with wet string - it just takes a  bit 
longer. Don't forget that the station wants to work you on as many slots as  
possible and will give the frequencies of all the other stations as often as  anyone 
asks.
