[UK-CONTEST] Encouraging the clubs a bit and other things

I have to agree with Roger - I have tried all year to get more folks
from the Cambridge club to have a go in the Club Championship - with
very little effect.
However we are going to have a /P effort in IOTA this year which I
believe is one of the best contests of all for getting new interest
going. One problem is that we only have 2 CW ops so I guess we will
mostly be on SSB.
With regard to articles in RadCom one of the important things for an
editor is to have articles which are fresh or pick out a new point of
view. If you want a good example of a contest article which does this,
have a look at Gerry's which was in RadCom a couple of years ago and you
will see what I mean. (Its on the BERU website too).
And whilst I am on, great job by the GB7HQ team and I for one would
like to hear more about the systems and tactics aspects since it seems
to me its a very good example of state of the art. And how contesting
can stimulate innovative thinking. Mind you I guess some of it is
confidential as I doubt they will want to give anything away to the
opposition.
