Dispatches from the eastern tip of East Anglia
low power field day G3JRM/P
After reading Richards article in Radcom the thought occurred that after
over 60 years living by the sea it was high time to really use the
facility.Armed with my trusty TS850 ,laptop ,an assortment of batteries and
a couple of Sota poles.Graeme (G4CKH) and myself (G4RLS)
set up base camp on the foreshore. After a minor hiccup with the logging
software losing us half an hour we had a great day contesting
interspersed by visits from various groups of walkers and one from H M Coast
Guard who arrived mob handed in a gang of four apparently tipped off by a
suspicious member of the public, They took great interest in our setup and
left in good humour to find some real smugglers
We heard at least a couple of stations who gave up their lunch break or
maybe mistook utc for local?
118 Qs with one dupe oops!
greatful thanks to all who heard us above the crashing of the waves
