I agree with all the comments re trees and wires and have used a "Black
widow" catapult on many occasions over many years -  they seem to be still
available for under £10 !

One small tip - I always use a small amount of self amalgamating tape
wrapped tightly round the join of the fishing line to the polypropylene when
pulling it over the tree - this helps it run smoothly through the
leaves/branches and avoids the annoyance of the fishing line sticking in the
tree ... oh - and watch out for neighbours !  Its always better to do such
things with as few spectators as possible !
