[UK-CONTEST] Filters

Good post Chris but to confuse Nigel(!), I have 2k filters (Yaesu ones)
installed as options on an MP and a Mk5. I never use them, preferring shift
/ width and other knobs and buttons.
"Guest" operators like them though which suggests it's a personal thing. I
certainly don't like the idea of not having them installed, so go ahead and
get some!
Occasionally they come up on eBay.

Hi Nigel
My thoughts although others will have a different opinion, i
have two 1.8khz inrads in one MP
and two 2.0khz Yeasu in another, i prefer the 2.0khz filters, i leave them
in all the time, however as far as i can
remember menu setting 89 needs to be changed for to make them work, the
1.8khz do a great job at times when they
are needed but for me are a severe compromise on readability if left in all
time, it would be nice to install a 2.0khz and a 1.8khz but as
far as i can remember it cannot be done on the MP field, well not without
getting the soldering iron.

I am thinking of adding a couple of extra filters to my FT 1000 MP. I am
looking to add in the ssb department. I tend to do more contest work. So
what would you all recommend. I am thinking about a couple of 1.8 inrads, so
that in the close combat zone of something like AFS, they might be of use.
Anyway your thoughts would be appreciated
