Well I did say I had a new confuser machine fitted with Vista so here
are my excuses! Nice clear QRG on 1833.8 Three minutes in and 6 QSOs in
the log, poof, keying went wild so had to reboot and consequently lost
my freq. Settled on 1820.2 and stayed there for the next hour 1.5 hours,
managing 92 Qs in the first hour. Most of those were made sending all
info on the mHam Win Keyer paddles with my right hand whilst entering
data on to the keyboard with my left hand. I usually revert to this
method when experiencing logging program problems, it reduces the
tension! I had 2 further issues, one of which was my own fault. There is
a sleep button on the keyboard just above the Escape key and close to
F1. I somehow managed to nudge it! After some S&P I settled on 1827.3
with a further bit of S&P at the end.
Some general observations. I connected up my Rx coax loop during the
afternoon and it helped on numerous occasions since I have a high n/l
from super grid power lines. The K3 held its own very well against
strong intra UK activity and the 2nd Rx works very well indeed. There
was a higher than normal level of European stations duping me, not sure
why. A few of the usual UK participants were notably absent. Nice to
hear W5 so early at 2257. All considered, an interesting session!
216 valid QSOs - 33 countries - 50 UK districts - 1043 points
K3, Acom 1000, dipole at 57ft, coax loop for Rx, N1MM v8.11.1
