[UK-CONTEST] 40m to USA long after sunrise

In the contest; and the middle of the day at 6Y1V (so I would say 17:00z) I
was pointing the MonstIR's to my West , for pacific (rather hopefully!). I
heard S56M I think it was, at a very good signal strength; I would guess
that was off the back of the beam stack.

Still OT contest, but hopefully of interest for the upcoming CQWW CW

With the rx still set on 7004 from yesterday, I got into the shack for
my coffee break about 11:40z, and at 11:45 up popped CO8LY calling CQ
DX. He was called by and worked a couple of JAs, all of whom were
audible with signals strengths from S3 down. He then worked a VK4, who
with the benefit of knowing that he was there, was audible albeit only
at ESP levels. The CO then audibly faded towards noon z. but it wasn't
clear if possibly he'd gone QRT after fading into the noise.

Then while working on summat on the computer up popped KG9N at 12:30
with a cracking S7 signal, but he got no replies to his CQs. He is IL
not in the 9th district btw.

I can't really see the flux increasing now as we move towards the
solstice and so there ought to be plenty of DX to work through the day
in CQWW.
