Hi Paul,

If I can just clarify that a little..

I all begun as that: http://www.m1cro.org.uk/clusterabuse.shtml

Thanks G0VHF(CCG) for being logical...

Rules are here: http://www.vhfcc.org/rules/08rules/rulechange.htm

Still we haven't heard proper explanation. It is very like war on
terror, when we say there are people who are trying to cheat and taking
advantage od stuff we developed and devoted to out hobby. Every serious
contester is always happy with good result, but can't be happy with
cheating, that is down to moral point of view etc.etc.

I have seen on several occasions that message was relayed on KST Chat
like: rrr 159 KO12AA etc. That is not ON!and I agree, but you will
always find cheaters and they should be DQ or penalized.

In Europe is common, when there is a problem, to use
forum/newsgroup/website to post intentions and discuss. I have not seen
any of that happening here.

>>>.."Some VHF/UHF contesters used non-amateur-radio comms modes for
spotting and to complete VHF/UHF "QSOs", as a substitute for exchanging
the information by amateur- band RF. In other words, if those
alternative comms modes had not been used, no QSO would have taken
place" ..<<<

No, I don't think that was the case and comment about getting on Skype
or phone it's just over the top.

What is wrong with going to chat room where everyone meets, and reply to
question ie:

m0ity de skm7w pse cw test on 144150??

Sk7mw de m0ity: rrr, will listen

5 minutes later WITHOUT further messages:

M0ITY de SK7MW tu QSO or sri nothing heard 73 gl

Where do I see those contest codes being transmitted other ways?

I am taking your point Chris, but I am not taking argument of RSGB CC
that they are just responding to offense and situation, still, no prove
has been given. I am not member of RSGB and I tried to commit myself of
joining. But could not find just enough reasons why I should. People who
know me would agree that I am quite enthusiastic and do have passion for
being HAM. You might be right that temptation is too big but certainly
not enough to resist...whys should I log QSO coming from CQ100 or email
or whatever non radio means. DXCluster is widely used via telnet (no
radio used anymore), everybody uses databases and SCP and Band Maps in
HF Contests (SD Log does have it too doesn't it?) but VHF is to be
different again (RSGB Rules: 4k. All information must be copied off air
at the time of the QSO and on the band in use. Databases must not be
used to fill in missing information. The DX Cluster, talkback channels
etc must not be used for passing or confirming any contest related
information.

At least they changed the rules so IARU Region 1 coordinated contests
are exception on that and mainly on microwaves that is good result. (it
really is difficult to work random on 10 or 24GHz when you got 0.5degree
wide way of fire)

It is hard to go unnoticed, but there are few contest groups aka die
hard style (fair play to them) who commit their self's fully and put up
score, which is hard to beat by others, BUT which represent UK scene too
and that should NOT be reason to give up, but to worker further, improve
and compete. Jealousy is not the feeling anyone should be getting for
not being first, even I am sure that it is happening in some cases,
usually making my eyebrow rising a bit higher than usual hihi.

Anyway, it is good we have dialog now, but so far I have seen just few
comments/reply.

What do you think?

73 Jiri

PS: I still think that as long as there is no RST, Exchange and
Confirmation being passed over by other than contest band/mode means,
there is nothing wrong with arranging skeds. I do not mean 9A5Y/S57O
style abuse, when who ever comes into chat room, they asked for sked
(once they asked station 4800km away :-D )
