No, I joined the RSGB as an SWL at the age of  12 or 13 as an Associate
member (A 3147?)
way back in 1955/6. Perhaps you meant that you couldn't get a licence until
the age of 14 (which I did).
I still don't seem to have clocked up 50 years as an RSGB member though.
