Never heard much at all on mine until I put a 2m converter in front of it.

Looking back I remain convinced it was very badly aligned and in those 
days I could only have made it worse :-))

I gave it away in about 1971 or 2 and remarkably it turned up some 
twenty years later.

It had been recovered in batch of stolen property and was tracked back 
to me as it had my old post code on the inside chassis.
