Are you not sure it is not cpm (characters per minute) as widely used 
by continental amateurs? 246cpm=49.2wpm (but I guess that is not 
particularly fast...).

The problem with RUFZ is that the way it increases speed whenever you 
get it right it very rapidly gets faster than you can copy. I find I 
lose it when it gets to around 45wpm. It would be far better if you 
could set it to a fixed speed a bit faster than your 100% rate and 
leave it there.
