log!

Dear, dear Reg, your memory is getting worse than mine.
I told you on Skype I had removed one of the 9el's because I'd burnt out
the balun which meant I had to run the remaining 9el with the amplifier
backed off so I wouldn't be on 2m much but 70cm and 23cm was still okay. The
Skype chat was just prior to Wyboston because remember you mentioned you'd
just had a nice meeting in a country pub with Pete G4CLA and spoke about
proposing a change to the start finish time of UKAC and I said losing the last
half hour would be a killer up here because after NAC finishes the none
Nordic EU's dissapear as well, so G's start beaming other than south east and
all of a sudden we start hearing activity.
Just to update you. I've got hold of an antenna analyser (great toy) and
will make a high power balun shortly. First attempt failed. Resonated at
144.280 but 1.6:1 swr.
The Versatower was over for 3 weeks so missed December 2m UKAC and AFS.
Initially down 'cos we got a very bad storm warning (correct)and then I
kept it over to install the new 70cm LNA on the 2x23el, works great!
I'll be around on Tuesday on 23cm UKAC and hope to catch you then.
If we don't speak before then have a great Christmas.

73 Ray.

Ray I was think more about the last 3 years and not just the past few
months!
