Though I've not used the mode since I replaced the SteppIR in favour of higher frequency antennas, one hint may be useful for some of you.
I used MMTTY with my TS940S, so t'was AFSK.
Despite the ability to reduce the SSB bandwidth manually, I was always impressed with results obtained on RX by listening using the FSK filter.
It was particularly handy in winkling out much weaker DX stations that were clobbered by stronger adjacent signals using the SSB filters.
The method was simply achieved by operating "split" with TX being on USB and RX on FSK. This method is great for "running" but used sparingly on S&P due to the need to reset both VFO frequencies. The only time I used it on S&P was as per above, a DX station and possible new multiplier was being buried by much stronger EU stations.
