Ian,

Possibly it's difficult to change speed from the keyboard mid flow but if you use something like Winkey (as in my Microham CW Keyer) you have full control of speed on the fly via the Winkey pot. I'm constantly matching my speed like this - can't imagine doing it any other way.

Also the keyboard morse and paddle sent stuff will always be the same speed, weight etc.....
