[UK-CONTEST] VHF-NFD Fixed Stations

Well, I knew I shouldn't have QSYed up to VHF!

>From my understanding of the postings on here, as a fixed
station (just idly trying to support VHF-NFD on 6m from
home), it appears that I am not allowed to call CQ. If I've
got this wrong, then I'm sorry. But if I've got it right,
then it's nuts!

Should I re-categorise my small VHF-NFD entry made from home
as Fixed, Check-Log or Shredder?

Having a contest where any particular category (other than
SWL!) can't call CQ seems, to me at least, somewhat bonkers.

Now QSYing back to HF....

I'm not sure quite what you're asking here?

If someone is going to post an entry under the FS section
then yes of course they have adhered to the rule, otherwise
they should be disqualified. I found it excruciating not
to be able to call CQ during the Es and nearly ditched any
intention of entering the contest, but stuck with it.

In fact I know there are others who agree with me that the
rule should be dropped. It made the section almost
unworkable for those of us on the periphery. I won't be
bothering entering again unless its dropped.

I'm not sure where you're reading that. The station with
323 qsos is g4rfr in the open section?
I made 64, I hope you don't that wasn't too many (I'm as
surprised as anyone else, I just have to type it all in now
and fix the times!)

If you heard someone who has entered the FS section (beware
some of them are flagged as checklogs) calling CQ then I
would have thought you were duty bound to contact the
contest organiser and state that.
