[UK-CONTEST] Heil Headset - FT1000MkV (OT)

Slightly off topic but the wealth of experience out there might have the
answer.

I have a Heil headset which I have used for several years with my FT1000MP
with no problems.

I now have an FT1000 Mk V (200w) and I cannot get this headset to work
properly with it. The mic audio is always distorted as if there is RF
getting into the audio - but this occurs even when the rf power out is only
10w. Doesn't matter what mic gain and processor setting I use (providing
there is enough to hear). I have ferrite beads on the mic lead but no help.

I seem to recall there has been some info in the past about earthing these
headsets with the 1000MP SERIES.

Any ideas please, direct e-mail if you think best off reflector.
