It was I who asked.

On the basis of the replies I decided not to look at the moonraker products - the consensus seemed to be that they were well built but probably designed by computer but never tested in real life!   The 50mhz ones all resonated way above the main part of the band and therefore were a dog to get tuned up.

What _I_  did in the end is built yet another g8vr 3 element for 6 which not only resonates correctly but now gives such a good swr that I thought my meter had bust, I must have got it just right because it was about 1.3:1  in the garden, so I thought that'll do and then when I stuck it up it went down further :-) 

For 2 I'm using the back 7 elements of my old HAG dl6wu which seems to be working as I completed MS with rx1as at 1973km the previous weekend and I seem to have been ODX for at least 8 people in last weeks NAC.  :-)
