Perhaps you would care to enlighten us with a little more meat on the bone?
It's clearly written in the rules after all, or are you bending the rules to suit yourself by saying it's valid because it has become normal practice since the advent of computer generated contest software packages when I can certainly recall contests of a bygone era when full exchange meant just that.
Are you also suggesting that a CQ or Test call is now acceptable as part of a contest contact?
I recall reading that UK amateurs were initially banned from using CQ as a general call and hence TEST was slipped in to overcome this burden. It has always been recognised that a CQ or Test call in a contest is the same as out with a contest so are you suggesting we re-write our history and it is no longer a general call but is part of a contest exchange?

I think Alex has raised a very good point and what answers I've read thus far have come across as looking for an easy "get out" because the alternative is too hard to swallow.
Until the current rules change....we're all cheating to make a faster qso rate but only Chris has complained that bona fide contacts slowed his rate down.
