Depends what you mean by an exchange.
If I meet you at the RSGB Convention I might say \"Hello I\'m Dave\" and
you reply \"Hello I\'m Ray\". That is an exchange of names. It\'s not
necessary to say \"Hello I\'m Dave\" you say \"Hello Dave I\'m Ray\" and I
to say \"Hello Ray\".
