Activity seemed good again last night. I get the impression more calls are joining the events, which is great news.
Inter-G conditions seemed fairly good, and the summer static was kind. I started (and stayed) on 3633, which seemed clear in the early part of the contest, but became very prone to adjacent splatter up to about 20.00Z, when it all died back again. Whether this was changing propagation or others giving up on the frequency, I don't know. Continentals were notably absent here, with only a few PA0's in the log and the odd DL. A few GM's, but not as many as usual.
This was an opportunity to give the new K3 here an outing and it acquitted itself well, although I realised (after the contest had started) that as it was not yet properly installed in the normal operating position, I had no access to the receive antennas. I think this cost me a few QSOs when adjacent channel splatter was at its worst. Apologies to anyone who called me and did not get a reply.
Ended up with a total of 166 Q's. K3 + dipole. Thanks to all for the contacts.
