Snip: QUERY (actually two):- How old does one need to be to qualify as an
Old Git? How many more summers can I look forward to enjoying (54
currently) before this old fashioned, quaint but IMHO abusive, negative
and ignorant terminology is applied to me?

Depends upon the age of the Young Git making references.

One opinion + One query
OPINION: - I enjoy the 12 hour section and would hate to see it
discarded; and in terms of judging 'On' and 'Off' times it is, in its
own way, just as challenging as the full 24 hour entry. With my
particular set-up (no HF beam right now but reasonably competitive LF
antennas) 12 hours strikes just the right balance - if the 12 hour
category was discarded I would not bother entering BERU.

QUERY (actually two):- How old does one need to be to qualify as an
Old Git? How many more summers can I look forward to enjoying (54
currently) before this old fashioned, quaint but IMHO abusive, negative
and ignorant terminology is applied to me?
