You c-a-n-n-o-t be serious? Now that IS old gittedness!

Why force anybody to learn or use CW. It was only necessary in the past
for one reason, and that was to communicate with maritime or military
operators who might have needed you to QRT. Now there aren't any, so the
only reason to use CW is for one's own benefit. If HF operators want to
discard the 6dB odd built in edge of CW let them alone.

This is just the point that I try to emphasize, but it is very difficult. Not only
that, but CDXC DX-peditions will NEED some new blood when we are pushing
up daisies, ( or will they also be doing the same ) ?

As for learning Morse, I did have two Elmers and some good instruction. The
problem is that bad habits are difficult to cure once into them. I use the G4FON
program using the Koch method and also the Farnsworth method too. Like you
I passed my Morse roughly the same age. In fact I don't think I had any spots at
that time - :-)

I also keep the GB2CW RSGB Morse broadcast going and always looking for
participants!

 Now, where IS that P5.........
