[UK-CONTEST] Datamodes and 7MHz

Hi.

  When the document was produced resulting from the IARU meeting and the new bandplans announced, it was noticed that the portion allotted to datamodes had not changed much despite doubling the size of the band. I volunteered, as Chairman of BARTG, to write regarding this and unfortunately couched my Email in rather an accusative tone, which I now regret. I regret it because I had a reply to the effect that BARTG were asked for input and suggestions as to what was needed and "we" never replied or suggested anything, so it was assumed that we were satisfied with what we had. Ouch!

  At the time we were too involved in red tape I think as there were dozens of Emails flying around to do with that. The only thing to do now is be prepared for the NEXT IARU meeting and input early.

  As we all know, under contest conditions, bandplans are thrown out of the window anyway!
