I liked the explanation of radio afterwards given by a well known 
person with a very sweet surname ... "well, you got yer Long Wave Band, 
yer Medium Wave Band, yer Short Wave Band and the FM Band" [innit?].

>BIt off topic but did anyone else see the foobar that the BBC made 
last night.  They did an article on radio and from the Museum of 
History of Science in Oxford, demonstrating the spark tx the man from 
the museum tapping away the letter V supposedly on the straight 
key........the ticker tape displaying clearly dot dot dash which is 
what was being sent, woops.
