Hi.
I must say that I much prefer RTTY for contesting. Using PSK is like watching paint dry! However, one advantage of using N1MM is that you can have two data windows, one using MMTTY and the other using MMVARI. You can also use MMVARI for RTTY as well if you wanted. However, using MMVARI for PSK, it is possible to use any of the PSK speed variations with a single mouse click. Problem is that the bandwidth is immediately increased to the detriment of others so it might be considered unsocial.
I also managed to get both windows working simultaneously so I could monitor PSK whilst working RTTY. This causes a problem however, in that the audio from one channel QRM's the other, so you have to turn the volume down on the other channel when in QSO. I negated that in the end as it did inhibit the Q rate.
The overall Q rate has dropped I noticed, but then as someone pointed out we don't have to go above 3600, a situation that would incur the wrath of some EU SSB ops!!
